Lauren Jacobson Mummy, BA, MA
Lauren
is the CEO of both Licensed To Healâ, Inc
(LTHâ) and Symmetry. She manages the market
planning, advertising, public relations, and sales promotion, and facilitates
staff services. She evaluates the
competition, identifies new markets, corporate scope, and market research, and
sets strategies.
She has over ten years experience as a marketing and
communications expert specializing in promotional marketing and client
outreach. She has successfully owned
and operated her own consulting business prior to her involvement with LTHâ and Symmetry, and has worked as a
professional coach and speaker for an international human development firm. Her
career includes presentations as a motivational speaker to corporations.
She earned her
degree in comparative literature and psychology at Pace University in New York,
where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She received Pace University’s Award for Excellence in Writing and
Composition; Playwright Elect; Theater Award; Honors Society Literature/Communications
Award; Undergraduate Award for Literary Excellence; and was their Nominee for
the Rhodes Scholarship. She was elected
to the Pace Honors Society (1987-1992); the National Speakers Association;
Alpha Chi; Sigma Tau Delta; and Dyson Fellow of Arts and Sciences. She received First Class Deans List merit
certificates every semester for four years consecutively.
She served as Pace University’s award-winning literary magazine’s
Chief Writer and Editor, and was published for poetry, fiction and essays in The Redhillian, The Weekly Newspaper; Vox; and
The Other One.
She earned her
Masters degree in English and Journalism from New York University, where she
graduated Magna Cum Laude. Excerpts of
her novel, Amandla!, were featured in
Icarus, NYU’s award winning publication.
As foreign
correspondent and special interests reporter for a Connecticut-based weekly
newspaper, she was sent to South Africa in 1994 to cover the first-ever
democratic elections. Her cover story earned her the award “most valuable
journalist,” and set the record for the highest readership recorded to date.
She has
successfully completed two novels. She has served as a professor of English;
comparative literature; creative, prose, and business writing; speech
communications; critical theory; rhetorical studies; and editing techniques at
UCSD Extension, National University, and San Diego State University.
Her passion for excellence, combined with her focus and
determination gives her a creative and entrepreneurial vision for creating and
maintaining performance excellence. Her proven track record in leadership and
